  • Mama wren working hard

Five wrens just hatched three days ago in nest on my porch right outside glass door. I have a great view of what’s going on and Mama is used to seeing me from a distance. No male has ever been around and Mama is working herself to death trying to feed her brood alone. She is leaving the nest every five minutes. Is there anything I could put out to help Mama (food for her or the chicks) or am I just worrying needlessly?

  • How is mom wren

Maybe a feeder nearby would help? I know our wrens eat sunflower seeds.
    Good luck

  • wrens

There is a wren nest in the hanging flower pot on my porch. I believe there were 4 eggs laid, tho one egg is in the plant outside the nest. Inside the nest is one unhatched egg and one dead hatch-ling. Until two days ago, momma was constantly flying in & out of the nest. One baby grew much larger than the other(one that died). As of yesterday, the living baby is gone & the nest is abandoned. I didn’t think it was ready to leave the nest, but I haven’t any sign of the baby or the momma since.

  • newborn wrens

We have 5 baby wrens until today the mom was feeding I thought they were dead (the nest is built between 2 chair cushions)I jostled the cushions & the babies moved but didn’t open eyes. What can we do to keep them alive??

  • Wrens nest

A wren that has made a nest and has since layed a clutch of eggs in my garden, appears to have abandoned the nest and its eggs, will it be back, very concerned as i put a finger in the nest to see if it had layed any eggs,i was just curious, and feel damned guilty now!!! I live in P~oulton Le Fylde in England
